The new virtual school offers Zach more independence than direct instruction from me and more time on the computer. He is given assignments at the beginning of each day and can see the assignments for the coming days as well.
He is quite torn over the temptation to script on Roblox and the necessity of completing daily assignments. He is often switching screens between the two worlds. He even discovered that he can split the screen and have both up at once. So by 3:00 o'clock his daily work isn't completed and he's nervous like a cat.
For now, I'm going to try to work with him to work out this conflict since it is one we all face daily. I want to take this opportunity to help him develop internal control. It seems as if the work is done for me since the natural consequence is built right in (i.e., still has work to do long after virtual school is finished for the day).
